Hobart

  • Mount Wellington - Your tour manager will whisk you away to the summit of the 1270 m iconic mountain located behind Hobart. From here you will experience the whole of southern Tasmania at your feet. On the return you may wish to take a short walk to Sphinx Rock along the face of the mountain.
  • Afternoon Cruise on M.V. Born Free - Generally, around three hours is enough time to take in the spectacular sights of the waterfront homes along the Western and Eastern shorelines of greater Hobart and suburbs, whilst you enjoy some delicious savouries and premium Tasmanian wines, beers and soft drinks, all expertly served by the professional staff of M.V. Born Free.
  • Sailing aboard Helsal IV - Helsal IV is an iconic 62 ft cruiser/racing yacht now located in Hobart. Private cruises on the Derwent River against the backdrop of Hobart and Mount Wellington are a wonderful way of stepping away from the rush. Set sails for comfort or adrenalin and find out why Hobart is one of the finest sailing capitals in the world. Twilight racing competitions are also an option in the late afternoon of selected weekdays.

Tasman Peninsula

  • Sealife Experience - Our first port of call is Eaglehawk Neck where your 31/2 hour Sealife Experience commences at 10 am. This adventure cruise on a 10 m catamaran manoeuvres around bullies, small islands, into sea caves, and so close against the cliffs you can almost touch them. Close up encounters with friendly seals can be guaranteed, also Albatross, Dolphins and Whales frequent this pristine coastline. Tasman Island and Cape Pillar... extraordinary places where towering sea cliffs meet the expanse of pure ocean with breathtaking dolerite columns soaring 300m above the Tasman Sea.
  • Seaplane Flight - A great combination between flying and getting to Port Arthur is a seaplane flight from outside the Casino on Hobart. Your tour manager will transfer you to the plane and meet you again in Port Arthur. A pleasant half hour flight takes in the scenery and stunning coastline around the Tasman Peninsula. Land in the heart of Port Arthur Historic Site.
  • Port Arthur Historic Site Visit - A private guided visit the remains of Tasmania’s famous convict settlement. The site features many attractions and your experienced tour manager will bring its history alive. Tea or lunch may be served on a secluded part of the site.
  • Windgrove - A private visit with American born artist Peter Adams at his coastal property ‘Windgrove’. Peter has been a wood sculptor of international repute and created an inspired setting for art and contemplation overlooking Roaring Beach. A two kilometre walk sits among creative landscapes and the sea. The Walk passes through several of the various micro ecosystems that comprise the 100 acre ‘Windgrove’ property.

Bothwell/ Derwent River Valley

  • Mount Field National Park - Only a short one hour drive from Hobart Mount Field National Park is the ideal background to explore the Tasmanian rainforest and alpine wilderness with some gentle walks. A short walk to Russell Falls is just the beginning, continue above the Falls to the Tall Trees Walk where forest giants dominate the sky. Continue further into the alpine areas of the park. Time for a hearty picnic lunch before a circuit walk around Lake Dobson with its ancient vegetation and mirror-clear surface is a good way of leaving urban civilisation behind.
  • Golf - The arrival of golf in the Australian colonies is interwoven with the early development of the game in Scotland. Today, the Ratho Links in Bothwell remain one of the world's best preserved, ancient golfing grounds. The game we now call golf was born on Scotland's east coast. Bothwell, in Tasmania's highlands, was settled by a boatload of pioneering Scottish settlers in 1822. As well as the rest of their proud Scottish culture which they transplanted into the Upper Clyde valley, they brought the game of golf with them.
  • Fly Fishing - You may wish to rise at dawn for some of Tasmania’s world class fly fishing for Brown and Rainbow trout in one of our copious lakes. Your fishing guide will collect you at The Priory for an early start and provide local expertise as well as fishing equipment.
  • Hunting - The area is also known for its deer hunting and a hunting excursion on a private estate maybe arranged in season.
  • Curringa Farm and Hamilton Sheep Centre - A short 20 minute drive takes us to Hamilton and provides an opportunity to have a quintessential Australian farm experience. Meet Tim and Jane Parsons who will explain their sheep farming, cropping and Landcare activities. Sheep dogs, shearing and a country morning tea are all part of the visit.
